GENERAL RECERTIFICATION INFORMATION

To maintain the high standards of the JNCP certifications, and to ensure that the skills of those certified are kept current and relevant, Juniper Networks has implemented the following recertification requirements, which apply to all the certification tracks of the JNCP. Note: These requirements are subject to change.

To renew your certification, please follow the guidelines on the table below:

JNCIP-E	Pass the current JNCIS-E exam	N/A
JNCIE	Pass the current JNCIP exam in the same certification track	N/A

Recertification Notes:

• Passing an exam at a higher level renews all lower-level certifications for two years from the date of passing the higher-level exam. For example, passing the JNCIP exam will renew the JNCIS certification (and JNCIA certification if currently held) for two years from the date of passing the JNCIP exam.
• Program participants can view their certification status using Cert Manager and will periodically be notified via email regarding changes in their status. It is the responsibility of certification holders to keep their certifications and contact information up to date.
• All JNCP certifications are valid for a period of two years. Note: Please reference the table below under the Certification Status Categories section for details on what happens to your certification if it is not renewed on or before your two-year recertification date.

 

CERTIFICATION STATUS CATEGORIES

The JNCP certification status categories, timeframes and eligibilities are as follows:

Active	Two Years	Eligible for all benefits Qualify under the Partner certification compliance requirements
Inactive	One year following the Active period	Can be recertified Are not eligible for benefits Do not qualify under the Partner certification compliance requirements Can still be used to fulfill prerequisite requirements for written exams Cannot be used to fulfill prerequisite requirements for JNCP Lab Exams
Expired	At the end of the Inactive period	Cannot be recertified Are not eligible for benefits Do not qualify under the Partner certification compliance requirements Cannot be used to fulfill any prerequisite requirements Candidates with an expired certification must start again at the bottom of that certification track

 

RECERTIFICATION TABLES FOR THE RETIRED M- AND T- SERIES TRACK, THE RETIRED ENTERPRISE ROUTING TRACK AND THE RETIRED ENTERPRISE SWITCHING TRACK

For those of you who need to recertify from the retired M- and T-series Track to the Service Provider Routing and Switching Track or from the retired Enterprise Routing Track or the retired Enterprise Switching Track to the Enterprise Routing and Switching Track, please see the tables below for specific recertification instructions. Retired certification credentials include:

• JNCIA-M, JNCIS-M, JNCIP-M, JNCIE-M
• JNCIA-ER, JNCIS-ER, JNCIE-ER
• JNCIA-EX

As you move from the retired M- and T-series Track to the Service Provider Routing and Switching Track, specific recertification requirements are as follows:
