Juniper Networks to Showcase High-Performance MPLS in Washington DC

Juniper Fellows and Key MPLS Engineers Featured in Speaking Program at MPLS 2008 Conference

Media Advisory -- SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 14, 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced its participation in the 11th annual MPLS 2008 International Conference from October 19 to 22 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. Juniper Networks will demonstrate its industry-leading MPLS capabilities for service providers and enterprises in booth #102 and play a key role in the conference speaking and educational program.

Dr. Kireeti Kompella and Dr. Yakov Rekhter, Juniper Networks fellows and key authors of many MPLS protocols, will be featured in the conference speaking program - highlighted by a multi-vendor, Verizon-chaired panel that will examine MPLS and emerging provider bridging technologies - and will participate in the interactive tutorial sessions scheduled throughout the conference. Dr. Kompella is active at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and is the author of several Internet-Drafts and Requests for Comments (RFCs) in the areas of CCAMP, IS-IS, L2VPN, MPLS, OSPF and TE. Dr. Rekhter is one of the co-designers of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and was also one of the lead designers of Tag Switching, BGP/MPLS based VPNs (aka 2547 VPNs) and MPLS Traffic Engineering. Among his most recent activities is the work on multicast in BGP/MPLS VPNs and VPLS. He has authored or co-authored more than 70 IETF RFCs, as well as numerous papers and articles on TCP/IP and the Internet. Several additional Juniper technology leaders will also be participating in the speaking program -- please see full list below.

The Juniper booth (#102) at MPLS 2008 will highlight Juniper Networks' long-standing role as an innovator and leader in the development and adoption of MPLS technologies. Juniper Networks routers and Ethernet Services Routers meet next-generation demands for network scale, performance and flexibility, enabling service providers and enterprises to support an expanding set of applications and services including video distribution, voice and data.
