Intelig Telecom Deploys Juniper Networks Routers to Support Multiplay Services

Brazilian Carrier Deploys M-series Routers for Additional Network Performance, Flexibility and Scalability

SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 13, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Intelig Telecom, one of Brazil's leading local and long distance data and voice service providers, has selected Juniper Networks M-series routers, including the M320, to upgrade its IP/MPLS network. Deployed by Juniper's local partner, M13, the new platforms will allow Intelig Telecom to expand network capacity and increase service flexibility by leveraging a single IP/MPLS core.

"We are creating a new IP/MPLS network core to support increasing demand for IP services via a more powerful and modern network," said Rodrigo Andrade, vice president of operations for Intelig Telecom. "We are also increasing network flexibility in order to develop new cost-effective applications and service offerings."

Intelig Telecom's network supports Internet access, Internet transit, Layer 3 VPN/MPLS, VoIP and multiplay applications. The company had deployed Juniper Networks' M-series routers in the network edge during 2005 and was pleased with the high level of performance, availability and service flexibility. The migration to the M320 routers in the core is a natural progression, offering a consistent level of performance, availability and operational efficiency throughout all the layers of the network infrastructure.

Juniper Networks M-series supports both existing and emerging Layer 2 and 3 services simultaneously. These platforms are a long term strategic investment for any company looking to benefit from the increased reliability, efficiency and flexibility of a multiservice IP/MPLS network while continuing to leverage existing networking equipment. The M-series features the high-performance and resilient JUNOS operating system, ensuring consistent and reliable performance for all of Intelig Telecom's advanced network services.

"Providers like Intelig Telecom deploy IP/MPLS networks to simplify network operations while creating a solid foundation for future service growth," said Tim Lambie, vice president, Americas International, Juniper Networks. "By upgrading its MPLS network with Juniper Networks routers, Intelig Telecom is counting on a powerful infrastructure that will support the progression and convergence of network services for many years to come."
