Maintaining a profitable business with stagnant or even declining average revenue per user (ARPU) is a fundamental challenge facing the mobile industry. To meet this challenge, mobile service providers can adopt one of two basic strategies: add new services and enhanced user experiences that mobile subscribers are willing to pay for or reduce operating expenses. But pursuing both at the same time using a MPLS-based mobile packet core network produces the maximal benefit. Wireline carriers have already made this move. Mobile industry standards are also adopting IP technologies as part of the mobile packet core evolution, shifting from R99 to R4/R5 and beyond.

Juniper Networks has helped mobile service providers evolve to a secure, converged IP infrastructure by providing industry-leading routing and security products, and by working closely with strategic partners to integrate our products into end-to-end solutions. Juniper’s mobile packet core solution has been deployed by leading mobile operators around the globe.
